Scorpio Rising
I started making music when I was nineteen. I had taken a road trip across the country with a friend to Washington State. We ended up in Olympia. After exploring the state and the college I took interest in going to school there. I decided to take a course in Music Technology at Evergreen State College. I was the only girl in my class. I had a full head of blonde dreads back then. I let my friends shave my head and convince me to stay living in Washington for a year. I mean I was nineteen an adult whatever. My parents didn't really care what I did. It was alot of fun! I was on the CD committee out there and one of my song creations was voted onto the college CD. ( I was not allowed to vote for myself lol) I also spent many hours in the studio at school learning about my technique. I came across an offer from my roomates (that were also musicians) about a job to write for Axis Magazine, in downtown Olympia. Axis was a music magazine for local artists and bands. I was given many CD's to listen to and explore and then wrote articles about them. It was very interesting! My teenage life was busy learning as much as I could about music. Being a girl growing up in the Metro Detroit area, I attended Raves, concerts, shows and just loved to dance. I fell in love with Aphex Twin, the electronic music industry, and other various bands. I became a fan of The Beastie Boys, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Rob Dougan and Marilyn Manson just to name a few. I grew up out of the Raves and started to create music. I'm loving where I am in my life today, back in a Detroit Suburb all grown up (my hair is just normal, well for now..) with alot more knowledge about life. For the past two years I have been regaining my footing back into what I enjoy the most- music! Life isn't always easy and it's brought me some ups and downs along the way. I feel that as an artist and musician I've learned alot over the years about the world. To be able to create something out of nothing is an amazing asset to own. To be able to share it with the world is a gift! I think for the most part we all need to encourage each other to be our best! We only live once and we all must make the best of it! Music has always saved me. Please enjoy!
