The Coachmen

The Coachmen

The Coachmen lived the 60s folk music scene. Their tight harmonies are reminiscent of some of the memorable groups such as the Kingston Trio, the Brothers Four, and the Lamplighters.

The Coachmen are a throwback to the 60s folk music era. Ed, Marc, and Jerry are good ole Southern boys who grew up in the Atlanta area singing at churches and schools. In high school, they formed the Coachmen and performed at colleges, clubs, and private functions throughout the South. Like most folkies, they sang for the love of it, rarely turning down an opportunity, not even an invitation to play at a downtown Atlanta Woolworth’s Five and Dime. Their stage was the Woolworth’s lunch countertop. Shortly after this experience, they were invited to be on the same stage with Peter, Paul, and Mary at a political rally in suburban Atlanta. Just one of those serendipitous 60s things. The Coachmen are now considered vintage folk singers, but still give the occasional live performance for special people on special occasions.
