Illusuions
Plus Plus is back with a fresh batch of talent! Hailing all the way from Barcelona, we are excited to have Hugo Marti as part of the Plus Plus family! Hugo provides us with a three original tracks, all harkening back to a time when the music was fun, carefree and not so serious!
Hugo opens up with Doubleone for his EP. With a fun, thick bassline with a lively drum groove, Doubleone embodies all those classic day time beach parties were always searching for during the summer months.
The EPs namesake, Illusions takes it down a notch, but still keeps the vibe light and chugging. A rhythmic bassline sets the foundation for the rubbery, dubbed out synths over top. Keeps the party moving while building tension start to finish.
La Vox de Papa is Hugo at his best. A warm, fuzzy bassline walks you through the progression, with raw synths flowing over the drums, La Vox de Papa gives Hugo a chance to show his full repertoire of studio tricks while keeping the groove focused and moving.
Up first for the remix round, all the way from Switzerland, is Koenig Balthasar. Koenig takes a crack at Doubleone, and he maintains the original summer vibes while making it more dreamy and lucid. A thick, warm bassline spear heads the remix with the riff riding non-stop to accentuate the haze you get lost in.
All the way from Italy, we have Garrett Voegel remixing Illusions. Stripping it down to its bare essentials, Garretts monolithic remix is all about working out that drum machine and punctuating the groove with psychedelic synths floating all around.
And once again, label head Jason Bay contributes his talents to this release with his work on La Voz de Papa. Keeping the swirling synth line for the original, Jason builds a solid tech house monster that just keeps growing into itself, with a break down that holds the tension until youre begging for that release. And what a release of that tension when the drums drop and the bassline comes back in with a vengeance!
