지난해 10월, Single Album [RA TA TA]로 새로운 음악적 변신을 선언한 에일리가 Digital Single [The BOSS]로 11개월 만에 돌아왔다.

“Listen, I’m the boss of me now"

신곡 ‘The BOSS’는 ‘자신만이 삶의 주인’이라는 의미와 함께 ‘이 세상 유일무이한 존재인 나 자신을 더 믿고 사랑하자’라는 메시지를 노래한다.

세상을 살아가면서 결코 피할 수 없는 타인의 시선과 말들. 상처받은 모든 흔적을 지워내고 한층 더 단단해진 내면의 2024 New Ailee를 그려보고자 한다.

‘The BOSS’는 디스코 기반의 신스팝 트랙으로 전주부터 곡 전반에 걸쳐 반복되는 인상 깊은 메인 신디사이저 리프와 조화를 이룬다. 이를 극대화하는 에일리 특유의 시원시원한 보컬은 최근 음악적 변신과 초창기 에일리의 모습을 동시에 떠오르게 하여 듣는 이의 흥미를 자극한다.
