Our Yellowhead label leaders return to their own imprint with an exquisite techno release, including two excellent remixes from the amazingly talented Peppelino and Felix Krocher.
Peppelinos rendition of Assault starts off the arrangement with a rocksteady rhythm section, boasting a bass-heavy groove and quirky effects, while letting the shuffling drums pound away into a frenzy. Felixs interpretation is up next and the gears get kicked up a notch, opting for a more straight-forward, jacking techno workout, employing sonar bleeps and atmospheric samples that offer the necessary style and finesse. On the original mix, our label bosses take a more old-school approach where classic chords, vindictive synths and the reverberating vocals all come together to create a thunderous masterpiece.
