Free Fall
o be released as a prequel to the forthcoming Echonomist album debut on Upon. You Records is the „Free Fall EP“ in which the Greek producer provides a glimpse on big things to come in the longplay format and an outstanding vision of electronic music that surely is about to the stand the test of time.
The EP's title track is „Free Fall“, a minimalistic, repetetive vision of Detroit-influenced beauty presenting a captivating and ever evolving crystalline main motif floating all over sawtooth bass attacks, free-falling towards the fascinating colour variations of the Horsehead Nebula and beyond.
Remixed by fellow Greek producer Argy we see „Free Fall“ being transformed into a highly pumping Techno affair, ultimately demanding ecstatic body movements, providing an extra kick due to the use of large, gnarly bigroom signals and yet sticking to the pure, outer space beauteousness of the original tunes main motif.
Furthermore „Nebula“ , the second original cut on this four tracker, weighs in more iridescent references to (Neo)Cosmic all spread over a solid Techno / TechHouse crossover foundation that can be best described as a perfect soundtrack for a long distance drift through unexplored parts of the universe, floating in a dreamlike state whilst deep sleeping in cryogenic tank for aeons.
Finally on remix, or better re-edit, duties for „Nebula“ we've got Sandrino who's sticking close to the Trance-inducing nature of the original template whilst adding a hypnotic, yet livelier twist for the wee hours, bringing in new layers of sparkling background modulations, epic waves of (Neo)Cosmic synth goodness and one of the most fragile and tender breakdowns you'll ever hear in 2017.
