With DEF Mike, we have a well known DJ, producer and promoter from the beautiful Vienna on board this time. He delivers two beautiful originals for us, crowned by two remixes by Hollen and Patrick Kunkel.
In Hold Me Down a stomping kick, growling bassline and a remarkable arp sequence together with driving 16th hihats converge into a groovy mix of progressive and tech house elements. A melodic pad sequence together with the Hold Me Down acapella builds up a warm atmosphere in the break.
Work Hard has nice resonant bass sounds and big hihats, supported by an absolute massive bassline. Piano chords take you back into the first days of house music.
We are glad to have Hollen with us on remix duties this time. In his rework, he focusses more on the melodic side of Hold Me Down, which creates a trancy atmosphere which reminds you at the good old rave parties.
Patrick Kunkel is our second remixer for this EP who picks up the stunning bassline from Work Hard and tops it with dubby and wide synth chords that add another kind of richness to the original.
