Morning Time
Murch unites with his musical brothers to perform all original compositions. AM's compositions are inspired by faith, family, love, places, growth, innovators, and musings or dreams of the future. Murch documents his journey and utilizes the trombone as the tool to express his soul.
The music is a personal testimony of my human experiences and a spiritual testimony of my soul, says Murch. For my debut record we created a real vibe; one that is live, honest, and imperfect. The majority of these tunes were written while residing in Brooklyn and commuting to my weekly performances at GFT church in the Bronx, and St. Nicks Pub in Harlem.
The first tune "Day Dreaming" was inspired by Freddie Hubbard, and my desire to walk into the reality of my dreams. The title track "Morning Time" is tune inspired by New Orleans second line. MT is also a prayer for peace, love, joy, and deliverance. "Love Life" is a ballad and one of my very first compositions dedicated to old and new love. "Mellobone Strut" was inspired by Duke Ellington's "In a Mellow Tone". I composed this tune to describe the walk of the brothers down in my hometown Savannah, GA. The next composition "I wanna be ready" is a 12 bar blues. It was inspired by a negro spiritual called "Marching up to Zion". I composed the next tune "Waiting to get Home" in regards to my journey while touring the world, and the realization of how much more I love and appreciate "home" the longer and further I'm away from it. The final tune on MT is entitled "Prince of Peace", this composition honors God. My way of giving thanks to the creator for his purpose and vision in my life.
This debut record was produced by Andrae and documents where he's been, resides, and is going. He captures the presence of his mentors and innovators throughout the full album. Morning Time is performed with passion, sensitivity, and soul; unashamed to display his walk as a believer in God by faith and spread love, peace, positivity, and good vibes through his story.
