Selected specifically for the angelic voices of the Salt Lake Children's Choir, this collection ranges from classical art songs and outstanding folk and popular music from many lands, to charming original compositions written especially for the ensemble. Art songs include Franz Schubert's much-loved "To Music" and the plaintive, rarely heard "Song of the Skylark" by Johannes Brahms. Among folk songs heard are the soulful "Zalet' sokol",from Slovakia, the Ukrainian "Têhcho nad richkuyu," and the lively Irish reel, "Follow Me Down to Carlow." Also featured are Woodward's evocative "Reverie" and the choir's signature closer, "A Day in Spring."
