Linford Nugent was born in Morant Bay, St. Thomas (Jamaica)and from a very early age, his irrestible passion for music was obvious. Most of his pre-teen years were spent in the church where his mom was an ardent supporter, and she wasted no time ensuring that young Linford was always included in the church activities. As it happened, Linford's mom, Mother Dennis, was a great vocalist, and her talent was quickly adapted by him. Linford's deep love for music accelerated and the church choir became his first stage. Linford could hardly wait for Sundays to have an opportunity to display his growing vocal talent.

The next phase in Linford's musical development was the discovery of and the excitement for music radio. He began spending most of his free time listening to his favorite stations where he cultivated a special fondness for Nat King Cole. Linford knew that he needed another arena for his music and so he participated in many school talent competitions and ended up winning more than a few first places. His love for music further intensified and this took him on yet another avenue of growth. He began performing at concerts and apart from discovering the joys of thunderous applause and multiple encores, he also came away with a number of top awards. Linford's next move was to learn to play an instrument and to accomplish this he turned to a friend, Earl Smith, from whom he learned to play the guitar.

Armed with the talent to sing and the ability to play the guitar, Linford decided to do his own recordings and his first release, Brown Eyes, topped the charts at #1. Linford went on to record such popular tunes as By The Sea, Some a Halla, The feeling is Right and Sylvester Was a Cat, among many others. Over the years he has performed alongside reggae greats such as Sugar Minot, Brent Dowe of the Melodians, Leroy Sibbles of the Heptones, Everton Blender and Frankie Paul. Linford also sang harmony for Brent Dowe.

Among Linford's diverse and distinguished performances, the one that stands out most in his mind is a concert called Nuggets for the Needy that was held in Jamaica. It was the first time that his performance was televised and the response was tremendously positive.

Music has been Linford's life long passion, and his current album, Complete Love, is solid evidence of his extraordinary vocal ability. Linford reported that "I would very much like my music to reach all the corners of the globe and to be enjoyed by as many listeners as possible."
