I have been working on this collection of love songs for almost seven years. Some of the older songs I listened to on vinyl, then on CDs, then on my iPod, and now on my iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV. Many of them show up in my iTunes playlist under Favorites. The two-CD set begins with great optimism, "When I Fall in Love" done in four-part harmony (all by me!), and ends on an ambiguous note, with Manfred Dreilich, the arranger and my voice instructor, joining me in "Perhaps Love." The second CD starts with the beautiful ballad "One Day in Your Life," and becomes increasingly despairing, ending with the BeeGee's hit, "I Started a Joke." The title "Morning Light" comes from a line in the song "It's Over." In all, Manfred has done an incredible job of arranging, sometimes keeping the orchestration to a minimum, as in "Memories," and other times creating a lush arrangement, as in "How Do You Keep the Music Playing."
