Living Room Jams is volume one in a series of live recordings meant to capture the art and magic of live playing. When the musical picture is getting painted and improvisation is moment to moment , there is a purity. Sometimes I use to hear
" really like your record but did you save the demo". I even felt that way, like something was missing or lost in the recording process. So here we are live blues with a mix of delta and chicago styles thats as honest and real as it gets. This is the Richy Kicklighter Trio jamming in the living room, blues , americana and a touch of jazz.

Richy’s Facebook page says simply, “Have a new blues trio. Mainly blues but a little jazz and delta blues mixed in.” His musical style is as understated as his verbiage. The idea was to capture the “live feel and spontaneous unrehearsed performance that often gets lost in today’s music.” It is perfect listening when you don’t want lots of noise but you want catchy and you want quality.

His guitar playing is skillful and tight. There is a jazzy quality in the tone of the guitar, the drums aren’t overly prominent, and the bass gets more solo time than typical for blues. The bass gives the guitar something to work off of and it flows easily and tastefully. It calls for a sunset and a libation, or maybe a snowstorm and a bowl of chili, you know what I mean?

Kicklighter hopes to continue with a series of living room jams recordings. If you like Ray Bonneville, I think you will like this all-instrumental album. 13 tracks, 69 min. ♪♪♪♪♪
