Voo Doo Root is the 8th full length CD put out by Clifton Davis and Doug Pitts. Cliff grew up next to a massive swamp in eastern North Carolina, and that life experience flavors his music and lyrics. The title cut refers to "root magic," with spells and potions... to "get to the root of this thing."
Did you ever feel like you were being watched by unseen eyes? Cut # 10, Boogah Man will raise the hair on your arms, as well as cut # 6., Terrified.
Collard Greens and Shine are tastily served up on cuts #7 and #3. Honestly, have you ever had a lizard "lap your neck in the dark," when you were drunk on moonshine... one hilarious story, with lots of killer guitar licks. It's a true story, so help me God.
The other tunes are just as varied. No two are the same. Note the length of our songs, as I give plenty of room for Doug to "strut his stuff."
