Ross Milligan Grew up in the Scottish Borders . He began studying Jazz guitar after hearing Joe Pass, Kenny Burrell and later Pat Metheny, Ralph Towner, John Abercrombie and John Scofield. He began his professional playing career playing Jazz, Rock and function gigs in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
He then moved to London where he studied at the prestigious Guildhall school of Music studying guitar with Phil Lee and John Parricelli and was finalist in Acoustic Guitarist of the Year 1996. He was also a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra for three years, recording three CD’s and playing with artists such as Van Morrison, Tim Garland, Buddy Greco, Fernando Tordo, George Melly and Kenny Baker.
As a freelance player in London he played, recorded and toured with a wide variety of artists including Trip hop legend Tricky, Sir George Martin, James Brown sideman Pee Wee Ellis, Horse, Saleena Jones, Darryl Sherman, The RSNO, The London Bach Choir, the Pasadena Roof Orchestra and Jeb Loy Nichols as well as working on many West End and Touring shows
He now lives back in Scotland and as well as running guitar master classes and workshops, plays regularly as a sideman and with his own Trio and Quartet. He has also played and composed for the Scottish Guitar Quartet and has written for other artists including Folk Band Bachue and The Jazz Quartet Quadrant.

Passing Places is his first album and features 13 beautiful original pieces.
