One World!

One World!

Gregory Abbott has written and produced another quality album.

Originally intended for an international only release- the opening tune, "Seasons Change," is rich with calypso groove layered with his trademark smooth-as-silk vocals. Of the three cover songs on the album, the best is James Taylor's "Handyman." Abbott adds some funk and a unique depth and color to this great song. His version of Johnny Nash's "I Can See Clearly Now" comes off very similar to the original, with Abbott's vocals spice to the marvelous melody. He has a fabulous voice that has a powerful presentation of fluidity in its delivery. His version of Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine," with its tremendous keyboard and sequencing, is awe-inspiring. The harmonics and dynamic punch in this number are amazing and spellbinding.

Abbott also does a duet with Phoebe Snow on "Three Little Birds," which transcends the listener to a spiritual high. The live version of the hit song "Shake You Down" has the same wonderful groove as the original with a slightly increased vibrance. The album has an overall alluring appeal, with plenty of romantic lyrics and sensual vocals. Larry Belanger, All Music Guide
