well...the original idea was...choose a selection of acoustic oppos songs...i think i got lost somewhere between intimacy and blue alice blue ...what i ended up with is some of my favourite songs...not always the most powerful, but for all kinds of reasons they worked for me ...today.

i ‘stretched’ the acoustic idea a little ...ie if the song had at least one acoustic instrument, which would include piano and ‘drums’ ..it could be on the list... i may have over stretched a little with ‘empire days’...

the song ‘ray charles’ was recorded in one take, paul the other guitarist hadn’t even heard the song before we pressed the record button...for the keen listener you can hear paul ‘anticipating’ the end of the song...

’susan gets by on love’ was recorded without me knowing..i was playing with some words i had
written on the way to the studio,trying to make them ‘fit’...and kenny had a mic set up in the room and just recorded me writing the song!...

...if i choose a collection next week,im sure it would be
