"This album went from two guys making music, collabing on a couple of tracks, to really grinding hard & trying to put together something really special & enjoyable not only for ourselves, but for people who enjoy Hip-Hop music." -CM

CM & A Better Tomorrow began collaborating on the album since the beginning of 2009. They first discovered each other on AcidPlanet in 2007. A few emails back & forth created there first efforts, "Re-introduction" which was featured on "Classic Material Vol. 1". From there, A Better Tomorrow would contribute two tracks on each volume, along with Vol. 3, "UI Radio", background instrumental. While working on an album with another AcidPlanet alumni, Admir Bonsoir aka Mista Mista, A Better Tomorrow gave CM a few tracks to work on, which would eventually be the seeds that sparked an album.

"One day, I just checked my email & there it was...just a bunch of instrumentals. It was an early Christmas present. Even though we never official said anything about making an album together, I think we both knew at some time in our lives, it was gonna happen. So in the back of my mind, this was the starting point of putting together an album with strictly ABT beats. Once I recorded enough tracks, that's when I seen the frutation of it all & let ABT know, hey, we could make this official." - CM

Through the process, CM would include his favorite artists from AcidPlanet. Streets Da Goon would be predominately featured through out the album and even given his own track. Other artist, such as Admir Bonsoir, Ocho, Saltine, Omega of NJG's & E. FeungShui would lend their talents as well.

"Streets and I have done a bunch of tracks already, so it was a must to get him on the album. I just kept reaching out to him. I love his style & voice. Plus his work ethic is phenomenal. He'll bang out a track a send it to you like it's nothing. So whenever I felt a track needed a verse, I hit up big man & he always delivers. This could had easily been a CM & Streets album, but I had already had so many solo tracks done that I wanted to use, he ended up being a co-star. But I had to get one of the tracks Streets & ABT did together on the album. And I wanted to get people who’s skills I respect on the album also. Because of certain circumstances, I didn't get to have my brother, RM, on the album, who is the second half of Deadly Combo & is a huge influence on me even getting into Hip-Hop. He'll definitely be on the next one. " -CM
