Yves Klein Blue
es Klein Blue are an Australian indie/rock band from Brisbane. Yves Klein Blue are named after artist Yves Klein's famous IKB, a blue paint that does not lose its brilliance over time, forever appearing wet and freshly applied. The name is a metaphor for the bands aspiration to create music that will never fade. \r \r They had an amazing 2008, releasing their debut EP Draw Attention To Themselves to a massive critical response and embarking on a hectic national and international touring schedule. Their hit tune Polka featured on the Mitsubishi Lancer ad, reached No. 76 on the Triple J Hottest 100 and was added to commercial radio Nova 1069. Yves Klein Blue have played Splendour In The Grass, Laneway Festival, Pyramid Rock, Big Day Out and have supported the likes of The Fratellis, Ben Kweller, The Living End and Tokyo Police Club, plus many more.\r \r Yves Klein Blue's clashy blend of classic pop, old punk, gypsy jazz and indie rock is a mixed palate. The band is fresh from the studio, working on their debut LP with producer Kevin Augunas at Fairfax Studios in North Hollywood. The new album is due out in Australia in late May 2009.\r
