Her love affair with the harmonica began on a road trip to New Jersey after experiencing the tragic loss of her dog who was killed by a car on PCH in Morro Bay, CA. Grief stricken, she decided the only thing to do was to drive cross country. She purchased and installed an 8 track tape deck in her VW Beetle along with a couple of harmonicas so she could play along to the tunes. In addition, a friend of a friend needed a ride to Detroit, so she picked him up to ride shotgun. By pure conicidence or fate, he had several harmonicas in his shirt pocket and turned out to be Jon Gindick, who later wrote several harmonica instruction books, does workshops all over the world and is an online instructor. Jon played and I learned harp for 2,000 miles, and by the time I got to Athens, Ohio, I was jamming with bands in clubs as well as playing with new found musical friends at campfires in Canada, living rooms in New Jersey and garages in California. She has learned to play Old Timey, Blue Grass, and Blues music. Since then Genoa has been playing harp with Jason Ricci, Gary Allegretto, The First Wednesday Blues Club at Oskar Blues in Lyons, Wendora’s Blues, The Delta Sonics, Gretchen Troop, Lionel Young Band, Dan Treanor, Rex Peoples, Randall Dubis, David Booker, and Maynard Mills. \r Other Musicians who have played gigs with us in Colorado include; Josh Patterson-guitar, David Wilson, guitar, Victor C-harmonica, Greg Cox-Drums, Colin Miller & Brian Donnell & Pete Staff-Bass, Laura LeBon & Janice Shayne-vocals, Rachel Miller-bass
