Mell Tierra
Mell Tierra developed an interest for music at a very young age. He quickly saw the power of two turntables and a mixer and commenced his quest as a house DJ. This respected DJ has been active in the scene for 13 years and is a familiar face at many renowned clubs, festivals and beach clubs.\r \r Talented Mell, who was already receiving bookings at a mere 14 years of age, genuinely caught the imagination of many music fans. He quickly became a real draw at various locations in the Netherlands and was booked to perform at famous clubs such as the Escape Venue, Panama, The Mansion, Westergasfabriek (Amsterdam), Club Rembrandt (Eindhoven), Vip Room (Rotterdam), Lexion (Westzaan) and large-scale outdoor events like the Fast Forward Dance Parade in Rotterdam.\r \r This DJ’s music is not only evident at clubs and festivals; his tracks receive regular air-time on Dance programmes on both national as well as international radiostations. For example, he hosts a guest mix on Dutch radio station Slam!FM where he features the best remixes, bootlegs and tracks.\r \r In addition to stunning DJ sets which always meet the expectations of the public, his studio work consists of many tracks and remixes that have hit the big time. Mell has enjoyed wide-acclaimed releases on respected labels such as Be Yourself Music, Flamingo Recordings, G-Rex, In Charge, Nervous, Samsobeats, Spinnin Records and Tone Diary. He currently boasts 120 releases to his name on Beatport,the largest digital danceportal in the world. His tracks have also featured on 30 compilation CDs, and the number keeps on rising. Last year saw his debut mix compilation CD hit the stores, entitled ‘Big & Dirty Ibiza 2011’. \r \r Over the years Mell has garnered a major and loyal fanbase. There is a wealth of goodwill for this talented DJ from all corners of the scene, as well as from his colleagues. Major names such as Armin van Buuren, Gareth Emergy, LaidbackLuke, Marco V, Markus Schulz, Paul Oakenfold, Paul van Dyk, Sander van Doorn and Tiesto have all supported Mell Tierra’s tracks.
