Jori King
Born in December of 1990 Josiah Richards, Jori King, once a shy boy from The Bay and Sacramento areas of California, has grown into a multi-talented extrovert. This upcoming singer, also a dancer and model, says, “I haven’t been alive too long, but music has always had a very great impact on my life.” Influenced by musical greats such as Keith Sweat, Luther Vandross and Jodeci, among so many others, Jori King has combined the styles of those he admires to create a unique sound that is sure to draw in listeners. It was not until 2008 that Phil Cox, Jori King’s uncle and producer from The Legion known as “The Slapboyz,” put him into the studio to embark on his road to stardom. Working hard then, with little attention from his uncle, as he was busy with other artists, Jori King was determined to find ways to share his passion with the world. Finally, he got his big break during a trip with his uncle to Los Angeles, California. LA was far different from the atmosphere Jori was accustomed to, “it was amazing.” After a few weeks stay, this trip led him to a modeling contract with Jet Set Modeling and Talent Agency, as well as a job at Broad Street, a high-class bar and restaurant in Beverly Hills Thompson Hotel. He continued to meet connects, but decided, to take a short break from music in 2008, due to personal issues. The hiatus did not last long. In 2009, after regaining his confidence, Jori was back at it! He began to record his newly written material over old beats and share with the world what he had to offer.
