Alexandru Cătălin Mica (b. August 25, 1991, Timișoara), simply known as Alex Mica, is a Romanian pop / dance singer. Alex discovered his passion for music at the age of five. He started writing poetry at the age of 15 and became his second passion, after music. As a child, he was part of the church choir, along with his grandfhater. His first appearance on stage occurred when he was 9 years old, at a musical competition for young talents. He studied at the National Colleage of Arts “Ion Vidu” in Timisoara, classical singing section. At the age of 17, in 2008, he participates at the pre-selection of the TV show “Megastar”(season 3), where he reaches the final, together with the band Sign. In 2009 and 2010 he participates in the Festival “Mamaia” National Music Festival, at the “Dan Spataru” National Music Festival where he wins the award the “Special Prize of the Ilfov Country Council” and also becomes the winner of the “Stars of the Citadel” trophy – Deva. In 2011, he entered the Romanian music market by collaborating with other Romanian artists on the song “Doamna si Vagabondul”. After this, he starts collaborating with different artists and recorded the song “Save Save”, followed by the hit “Señorita”, with Starchild and Allexinno, composed by Alex Mica. Soon, they released the song “Mi Corazon”, together with Dj Fabio da Lera, composed by the same trio as “Señorita”. He established himself in the music world, with the song “Dalinda” with another two artists, ynder the name 1Artist Music. It was one of the best hits of 2012 in Romania, ranking #9 in the annual chart in April. Alex was member of 1Artist Music for 3 years. On October 21, 2015, Alex released the reggaeton influence song "No Me Digas", produced by Code Production. After all this success, Alex felt the need to retire from music especialy from public life, for a while, but, in all this time he composed a lot of songs that, in 2020, he started to release.
